Leitz HUGO lenses are designed to be small, fast, light and focus as close as possible with all the personality of Leica M lens glass, creating character in the shot. Joining the existing 10 Leitz HUGO focal lengths, the HUGO II lenses, named for their slower aperture, introduce new options that offer some size advantages and slightly different looks to the 75mm and 90mm.

The Leitz HUGO 75mm T2.1 and 90mm T2.1 lenses are derived from the Leica Summicron-M lenses. Being one stop slower than the T1.5 lenses, these can be significantly shorter and lighter, almost matching the dimensions of the rest of the 50mm-wide T1.5 set. Thanks to the design of housings for these lenses, Leitz will now be able to convert entire sets of Leitz M 0.8 lenses to HUGO without sacrificing the longer focal lengths.
