Leitz Summilux-C 65mm T1.4 PL (Metric)

Fast, compact and reliable

Leitz SUMMILUX-C is a set of 12 Super 35 primes from 16 to 135 mm, all T1.4. Leitz describes them as fast, compact, reliable, beautiful in colour and excellent in contrast. At launch they were among the smallest T1.4 cine primes available, about half the size of comparable Super 35 lenses, and in 2015 they received a Scientific and Engineering Award from the Academy.

Sharp, breathing-free and colour matched

Aspherical elements and a telecentric light path reduce chromatic aberration and breathing and give even illumination across the frame. Colour is matched across every focal length, so shots cut together without grading fixes.

Beyond Super 35

The 33 mm image circle exceeds Super 35, so most focal lengths also cover larger sensors at certain aspect ratios.

A consistent set for the set

Every lens is 142 mm long with matched focus and iris ring positions, a 95 mm front (114 mm on the 135 mm), matched colour and an average weight of 1.7 kg, so lenses swap without readjusting follow focus, matte box or balance. Focus scales are individually measured and engraved, with a patented mechanism that expands the scale in the critical range. Titanium PL mount with optional Leitz iD (identification, distortion and shading).
