Leitz THALIA is a set of 11 primes from 20 to 180 mm based on the Leica S medium-format lenses, designed above all to capture people. They offer a distinct artistic character compared with the clinical look of many modern lenses.
A flattering look
Smooth, natural skin tones, a gradual fall-off in contrast and resolution towards the edges and a sharp centre that draws the eye to the subject. Clear without being overly sharp, with smooth, forgiving focus.
From Super 35 to ALEXA 65
The 60 mm image circle covers ARRI ALEXA 65 and 65 mm film, and they also work on VistaVision and Super 35. The 24, 55 and 120 mm focus to 1:2 macro.
Cine mechanics
Circular 15-blade iris at every stop for smooth bokeh, 95 mm front, 92 mm filter thread (except 20 and 24 mm), rear net holder, matched ring positions across the set, 270° focus rotation and PL and LPL mounts with /i contacts.
