The Summilux-C look, now full frame

LEITZ PRIME lenses carry the look of the iconic Leitz Summilux-C primes into full frame / VistaVision. Leitz designed them to render the world without artifice, with a fidelity close to the human eye: lighting, production design and style build the look, without aberrations or stray flares pulling viewers out of the story.

A flat, clean image edge to edge

A flat field with even illumination and resolution into the corners: a neutral starting point for any look. Breathing, chromatic aberration and distortion are minimal even on the widest lenses, simplifying VFX, virtual production and post.

Warm colour and flattering skin tones

Faithful, warm colour reproduction, natural skin tones and a smooth focus fall-off, so talent looks natural rather than clinical. Colour is matched across the set and with LEITZ ZOOM lenses, so lens changes need little correction in the grade.

A complete set of 13 focal lengths

The series runs from 18 to 350 mm: the 11 widest lenses are T1.8, the 180 mm is T2.0 and the 350 mm is T3.6. They were designed alongside the LEITZ ZOOM 25-75 and 55-125 mm T2.8, forming a complete family for any production. They have been used on commercials for Hennessy, Mercedes-Benz and Xfinity, among others.

Mechanics built for set

Focus and iris rings in the same position on every lens for fast changes, a 114 mm front with M112 x 1.5 filter thread and rear net holder, a circular 15-blade iris at every stop, 270° focus rotation and turnable metric/imperial scales. Interchangeable PL or LPL mount with /i metadata contacts. Designed and made in Germany.

This focal length offers T1.8, a 0.55 m close focus, 183.7 mm length and 2.76 kg weight, with the same 46.5 mm image circle and front diameter as the rest of the set.
