The diopter, reinvented for digital cinema

Leitz MACROLUX close-up lenses are designed for single-sensor digital cameras and reduce the lens’s minimum focus distance. High-quality glass and custom coatings give high resolution and contrast, with no perceptible light loss, spherical aberration, colour fringing or centring issues, and colour matched to LEITZ PRIME and LEITZ ZOOM.

What it is for

Macro work on longer lenses (the longer the focal length, the stronger the effect), more out-of-focus softness and bokeh, separating subject from background on wider lenses even at slower stops, and moving closer in tight spaces. For example, with a LEITZ PRIME 100 or 135 mm, the +1 focuses 37% closer.

Mounting and stacking

Screws directly onto the lens body with a dual-sided thread, so all three (+0.5, +1 and +2) can be stacked without adding chromatic aberration. Works across the full aperture range and with standard or clamp-on matte boxes, even when stacked.

Compatibility

Lenses with a 114 mm front (primes, zooms and anamorphics) such as LEITZ PRIME and LEITZ ZOOM; with a step-down ring, also 110 and 95 mm.
