FREELENSING CINE® System

(inc: mount for RED V-RAPTOR, RED V-RAPTOR XL ALEXA MINI LF, ALEXA 35 & SONY VENICE).

Freelensing Cine® is a system that leaves the optics virtually suspended in front of the camera sensor allowing the operator a fast and intuitive movement.

It allows parallel and perpendicular displacements to the focal plane, rotation of the optical center and the combination of both movements, displacements and tilts.

Freelensing Cine

The larger the area covered by the lens, the greater the ability to shift the image.

Lens and/or Titlt/Swing sensor rotations are possible due to the wide angle of rotation that is produced by taking the sensor itself as the focus of the rotation, so that the control of the projected image is by far more precise than in traditional decentralized lens systems.

The Freelensing Cine itself absorbs the weight of the optics, resulting in freer positioning.

Freelensing Cine® is art and technique.

Freelensing Cine® allows you to control the focal planes and choose where to have them in the frame, either to increase depth of field or to minimize it.

With the Freelensing Cine® System, cinematography is provided with the ability to do freelensing with cinematic control.

A plate and medium format system imported to cinematography, placed on the digital cinema camera you use and with the PL (spherical, fixed) lenses of your choice.

Freelensing Cine® helps you select the focal planes.

You can give the Focal Plane the angle you want (within what the camera and lens allow) either artistically or to include objects in the focal plane or to correct vanishing points, all within the frame.

When you make the rotation movement you do it taking as axis the sensor plane. In this way the projected image is always inside the sensor. For this reason it is not mandatory to move the lens when rotating or angling or swinging. .

The control is more precise and accurate.

It can be left installed functionally, locked, allowing the operator to work in a normal situation.

The range of movement can be so wide that we can rotate the front of the optical plane and move the sensor at the same time, bringing us closer to the functionality of the optical benches that allowed front (optical plane) and back (sensor plane) graduation.

Possibility of using it with zoom fluids or motors with 0.8 pinion of focus controls. Lockable on all axes individually or globally through an arc.

Possibility to fix it with magic arms by having ¼" holes.

The change of optics requires the same time as the normal one.

     - Maximum weight suspended from the lens mount: 4 (8.81 lbs): including lens, mattebox, motors and/or any other accessory to be placed in front of the system

     - Do not hold the upper part of the Freelensing Cine® (especially with the camera on) UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES: it can lead to breakage of the system, as well as the fall of the complete camera equipment: is designed to withstand the load of the lenses in the established range (max 4 kg).

     - To change it or to hold it by the sides (where it says FREELENSING CINE®)

     - Vibrations induced in the system can affect the image.

     - Do not exert force if you feel resistance in any position.

     - The Freelensing Cine® should always be positioned vertically and upwards, without inverting or turning it upside down. This may cause deterioration of the product.

     - For 9:16 or vertical perspective images, only rotate the camera while keeping the system in vertical position, i.e.: lay the camera inside the system.

     - To store the Freelensing Cine® it is recommended to lock the locks in these positions:

          - Y-axis: at its maximum travel.

          - X-axis: centered.

          - Rotation of X: at 0º.

          - Rotation of Y: at +20º.

     - To change the lens, it is advisable to lock the TILT of the Y axis (vertical rotation).

     - Operating temperature of use: between 0ºC and 40ºC avoiding direct sun, dust, rain, ice.

     - Storage temperature: between -10ºC and + 50ºC avoiding direct sunshine.

     - Avoid corrosive agents, both basic and acidic.

     - Do not hit.

     - Use the tools provided with the system.

     - Always supervise all the axes and their fixation.

     - The camera must be correctly fixed and centered with respect to the 19mm rod BridgePlate so that the lens is placed in the correct position with respect to the Freelensing Cine® marks.

     - Keep the complete image in the projection circle, avoid split images (image circle and black) with shifting movements.

     - Lens elements protruding into the sensor from the mount must be carefully analysed and the user is responsible for any damage to the lens.

     - In the event of any resistance to movement, abstain from forcing it and/or continuing to exert pressure.

     - Before moving the camera it is advisable to keep the System locked.

     - Do not grease.
