The " RED KOMODO (Pro, V-Mount) Accessory Kit" is an accessory kit for RED® KOMODO™ that includes the "LW 15mm Baseplate", "Complete Top Mount Kit", "Battery Slide Pro V-Mount", 2x 15mm rods (12" - 30 cm).
The LW's 15mm baseplate (RED KOMODO) provides 15mm rod apertures at the correct distance from the center of the objective. Standard ARRI, M6 rosettes are on both sides along with 1/4-20 tapped holes. The ARRI 3/8-16 accessory mount is also available on the right side of the camera.
The base plate has a Swiss standard ARCA top dovetail with center screw channel and vertical lens support post system. Attach a 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 screw to the bottom of the camera and place a vertical, 1/4-20 support post under the lens adapter such as Canon RF to PL Mount Pro (RED KOMODO).
The bottom dovetail slot is ARRI's standard for attaching to ARRI dovetails or the included Quick Dovetail. With the Quick Dovetail attached, the base plate and camera combination can be combined with an ARRI standard bridge plate such as the Quick Release Bridge Plate (19mm) or Quick Release Bridge Plate (15mm Studio).
The complete top mount kit (RED KOMODO) includes a top mount that attaches to the camera body via two 1/4-20 captive screws and provides a central ARCA Swiss dovetail attachment slot along with 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes for accessory attachment.
The included top handle slides into the ARCA slot and leaves the camera control screen easily accessible. The shoe mount on the top can hold camera lights and microphones and the 15mm side opening can hold the included monitor arm or UVF V2 mount. ARRI 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 accessory mount in various locations and 15mm lightweight rod holder on the front for attaching lens motors and more.
Monitor hinge can be attached in the ARCA slot and provides a direct 1/4-20 mount for SmallHD monitors. An included rubber pad can be added to attach third party monitors. A 15mm mounting foot is included that allows the monitor arm to be quickly released and attached to the top handle.
The top plate slides into the ARCA slot to provide rows of 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 ARRI accessory brackets in standard spacing and can be adjusted forward to allow access to the camera control screen. Ideal for attaching to gimbal and drone systems or for use with legacy wood camera products.
The Pro V-Mount Battery Holder (RED KOMODO) attaches to the camera left BP-9 battery slot and powers the camera using a LEMO compatible right angle connector. The thumbscrew can be loosened to tilt and slide the plate as needed.
Three D-Taps on the plate provide battery voltage for the accessories and power is monitored to detect overcurrent. If the accessories use more than 5.8 A, a digital fuse will trip and the red LED will illuminate, but the camera will remain powered. The reset button can be pressed once to reset the power to the accessories.
The DC input on the right side of the camera can be used for hot swapping between the bulk battery and the on-board battery. Although the AC adapter that comes with the KOMODO can be used, note that it may not be powerful enough to hold the camera and accessory socket.
If you wish to hot swap between the V-Mount battery and the BP-955 battery, please note the Battery Slide Extension for Canon BP-955 Hot Swap (RED KOMODO), which moves the battery plate away from the camera body.
