Leitz ELSIE Prime lenses are designed to work in Full Frame with consistency in size and speed to serve a wide range of productions. The lens set consists of a range of 13 lenses, from 15mm to 150mm, all T2.1.
Designed and produced in Germany, ELSIE lenses incorporate the warmth and resolution for which Leitz lenses are known.
All ELSIE lenses are in T2.1. They are designed for full frame performance with consistency in size and speed to serve a wide range of productions.
The name ELSIE is inspired by lifelong humanitarian Elsie Kühn-Leitz, daughter of Ernst Leitz II, who stood up for the oppressed and suffering and risked her own life to help them.
ELSIE lenses are available in LPL frame. The design for the shallower flange depth of the LPL standard allows for greater design flexibility and higher performance without pushing mechanical or optical characteristics to the extreme.
A new bokeh design developed in conjunction with Leica Camera more closely mimics their M lenses by creating out-of-focus elements that are painterly while remaining recognizable.
Leitz ELSIE Prime lenses were designed from the ground up as premium cine lenses with full-frame performance and consistency of size and speed to serve a wide range of productions.
The lenses feature a noticeable but gradual drop in resolution and illumination as the image approaches the corners to create a dimensional burst that gently draws the viewer's eye to the center of the frame.
